Description

Crust. Brownish-grey interior with a whitish edge. Found fruiting as singular isolated patches or across vast areas.

Confused with

Schizopora paradoxa (yellowish-white).

Significance

Associated with a Brown rot and soft rot of the wood substrate. Usually observed on trees displaying symptoms of physiological decline.
