Description

Perennial. Tough. Often found in large wavy clusters. Individually small. Upper surface ridged with blackish red-brown zones. Margin a lighter brown. Pore surface a smooth reddish-brown.

Consiered saprotrophic. Attributed to a white rot or soft rot of the wood substrate. When found on pruning wounds, the extent of the decay may need to be assessed and quantified.
