Description

Perennial. Rusty cinnamon brown to tan brown. Usually a crust but may form tiered bracket-like slotted structures with elongated pores on suspended near-vertical wood substrate.

Confused with

Fomitiporia punctata (usually on plane).

Significance

Considered saprotrophic. Attributed to a white rot of the wood substrate.
